about
Self motivated project for the exhibition Nothing To See Here 2015 held at the University of Wollongong. The exhibition theme was static, and participants were called to create a work which reflected the theme in some way. I submitted a Digital Installation consisting of three video feeds directed, filmed, and edited by myself, as well as a composition written in sibelius, and recorded via MIDI manipulation and live instrument recording techniques. The piece, titled revolution, focused on the cyclical effect life has - we go about our lives completing tasks, attempting to move forward in our context, however in the end, we do not go anywhere. “For dust you are and to dust you will return.” Genesis 3:19b. Although we are here, now, our lives are fairly static. That is not to say that our lives are meaningless, but instead that we must take note of the simple things while we still can.
The intended viewing of this piece is to watch all three videos at the same time. They can be viewed here: elyssejanelle.wixsite.com/elysium/revolution
